  Normally, I love Costco. This time however, they really dropped the ball. So, I bought 8 containers of 4 pounds each of grapes for school (and hundreds of dollars in cheese). I was feeding around 300 students! Right after that, I crossed the street to aldi's to get vanilla wafers. While there, I saw that the grapes were only $1/lb instead of $2/lb that I had paid at Costco. I called Costco to see if I could return the grapes. They said I could, but that they'd throw them.all away!!!... I talked to a manager and he kept telling me and repeating over and over, very rudely, "we don't match prices" . I asked if they could give a discount, since this was for school. His response? "We don't give discounts. We don't match prices". Costco was willing to reimburse me $2/lb and throw it away, but not willing to give a discount. I made sure to tell all 300 students and the parent helpers about this. They were all appalled that Costco was not willing to help for a school activity. The sad part is that the students are the ones who got the shaft in the end. They could have gotten double the grapes. So... don't count on Costco to build a good rapport with local schools nor to care.
